Legacy of Kain: Raziel WIP
Legacy of Kain's Raziel is one of my most favourite videogame characters of all time. Until Soul Reaver, I had never before experienced a game in which the story and characters had captivated me so much.
So for my next project I decided I would create a tribute/ re-imagining of Raziel.
Developed over an extensive period, the piece was modelled using 3ds max before having further details sculpted onto the mesh in zbrush. The model was then taken back to 3ds max and rendered with vray, with post production being completed in photoshop.

Medusa
With recent renditions of Medusa painting her as both a monstrous villain to be feared and a symbol of adultery and sexuality, I wanted to present the infamous mythos in a much more vulnerable characterisation. A young woman frightened and alone who is as much a victim of her curse as those who look upon her, suffering from the hostility of her affliction.
The image was created over 2 weeks with sculpting and painting completed in ZBrush before rendering several passes that were then composited in Photoshop. Further details such as blood and tears were added at this stage before the final image was colour corrected.

Curious Collections Logo
Logo designed by miruku for Plymouth Natural History Museum's 'Curious Collections' scheme which was set up by my sister who worked as Assistant Curator.
The scheme was designed as an outreach to young children to gain interest in all things natural and encourage them to collect specimens for private study or to bring into the museum for classification. The scheme was so successful that it was even positively endorsed by Sir David Attenborough.
The logo was created with hand drawn elements that were added in photoshop for digital colouring and cleaning before being assembled into the final logo.

SunDaze Motion Graphics
A series of motion graphics intro sequences for Supersaturated's 3 part kite surfing documentary 'SunDaze' featuring Ned Taylor.
The intro segment was designed to have a grungy, grimy vibe that reflected the culture of both the Supersaturated brand and the sport. Each intro follows a pattern but is represented in it's own colour scheme to distinguish of the 3 parts that make up the series.
The sequences were created by designing individual elements in Photoshop that were all composited and colour graded in After Effects. Uncurling paper labels were stop motion animated and incorporated into the footage with several frames chopped out of the animation to create a more jerky movement to further add that grungy feel.

Motion graphics intro sequence for collaborative project 'The Lane'.
'The Lane' is an easy going music television show (this is currently the pilot episode) that showcases some the hottest up ad coming talent in the South West, UK.
Miruku was tasked with creating all the graphical elements for the show including the intro sequence. The sequence is a mix of animated photo montages, 3D assets and 2D motion graphics with a muted colour grade to give it a funky retro feel.

Disposable Finger Toothbrushes
A collection of 3D product renders showcasing a range of disposable rubber toothbrushes that can be placed on your finger.
Proposed by Product Designer Joseph Walker, the toothbrushes are designed for individuals who are always on the go such as businessmen and travellers. The brushes were created to real world scale in 3D by miruku based on Joseph's concepts before being sent back for 3D printing. The 3d prints were then used as moulds in which to cast the final rubber versions.
In the meantime the digital versions were then re used to create these final product render shots which were later submitted with the final design.
